Support girls and gender-expansive youth

The Xinachtli philosophy and curriculum are rooted in a gender-responsive, culturally-based rites of passage approach. It promotes healing and leadership capacity among Indigenous, Chicana, Latina girls, and non-binary youth. By reframing the narrative of transformation healing and advocacy within a gender, racial justice, and anti-oppression framework, the Xinachtli curriculum supports the character development of teens. It incorporates a dialectic process of reflection, critical consciousness, creation, and action.

During this 3-day in-person training, facilitators will receive support in their work with girls and gender-expansive youth. The curriculum manual, program handouts (both hardcopy and electronic versions), pre and post evaluations, and two years of technical assistance are included in the registration fee. Additionally, participants will receive 21 hours of training, membership to the national network XCNC, access to monthly online circulo with technical assistance, and a 3-year Mental Health First Aid certification with a care package supplement.

It is important to note that all femm identified individuals are welcomed to participate in this training program. The Xinachtli training program aims to provide a supportive process for youth to develop a positive identity, life skills, and a support system based on Indigenous principles of interconnectedness to family and community.
